Ms. Colleen Cervantes the president of Chevron Lubricants will be in Sri Lanka on the 3rd and 4th of December together with Mr. Farrukh Saeed ,Vice President Lubricants Asia Pacific region who is also the Chairman of Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC for the ceremonial opening of the state of the art lubricant blending plant and the warehouse facility located at Sapugaskanda. The grand opening ceremony will also be graced by the local dignitaries, media and the other key stakeholders of the company.
As president of Chevron Lubricant since July 2013 Ms. Cervantes is responsible for the manufacturing, blending, sales & marketing of base oils, finished lubricants as well as coolants to the industrial and direct consumers worldwide. On her first visit to Sri Lanka, Ms. Colleen Cervantes will be on a tight schedule to experience Sri Lankan hospitality and to have discussions with the company’s key stakeholders. The global head will also be visiting the market to understand the Sri Lankan market environment to be able to provide direction to the local management.
Ms. Cervantes’s who has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University received in 1983 has a 30-year career with Chevron. She started her career as a project engineer in the company’s retail marketing department. Prior to her appointment as president of Chevron Lubricants, she was the vice president, product supply & trading, with global responsibility for the supply of non – crude feedstocks to Chevron’s refining system, refined products supply and trading, marine fuels marketing, and biofuels supply and trading.
The current president of Chevron Lubricants has also served the company as vice president, Global Marketing, Asia Pacific region, where she was responsible for the retail sales and terminal operations, commercial and industrial fuel sales, and asphalt operations throughout an 11-country area. While in Asia, Ms. Cervantes also served on the Board of Directors for Caltex Australia Ltd, the largest refining and marketing company in Australia. Prior to that assignment, Ms. Cervantes was general manager, Retail West, North America Marketing, where she was responsible for gasoline marketing and retail sales at nearly 3,000 Chevron and Texaco-branded stations in the Western US. Cervantes also served as general manager of Company Owned Stores and President of Chevron Stations, Inc in which included a network of more than 700 retail outlets.
The current head of Chevron who is based in the Chevron headquarters based in San Ramon, USA travels extensively to provide direction and review business operations around the world. Chevron Lubricants has over the past several years improved its profitability through effective execution of strategy with specific focus on growth markets around the world such as Sri Lanka.
