caltex provides medical facilities to the all-island three wheeler driver’s union

Healthcamp2Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC, the preeminent marketer of Caltex branded lubricants in Sri Lanka recently stepped forward to provide free medical care to the All Island Three Wheeler Driver's Union membership as an initiative to help social development of the industry. The health camp was conducted in partnership with the All-Island Three Wheeler Driver's Union where hundreds of three wheeler and budget taxi drivers were given free access to medical care which included a Random Blood Sugar (RBS) test, a free Blood pressure (BP) check, a free Eye test and a free Doctor's consultation for other ailments. Chevron also donated all the necessary medicines and resources required for this health camp.

 

"We decided to embark on the first health camp this year very specially for the three wheeler and budget taxi drivers. No doubt this community does an enormous social service to the country and we wanted to be at the forefront of supporting the social development of this industry" commented Mr. Kishu Gomes, Managing Director/CEO of Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC.

 

Chevron has always been an active promoter and advocate on Health, Environment and Safety. Prior to this, the Company has held several regional and national clinics for deprived and underprivileged communities. In 2012, the company conducted health camps at several fisheries villages located along the coast belt. Some of the villages included Kalpitiya, Chillaw, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Tangalle, Dewundera, Beruwala, Negombo and Jaffna.
