Chevron strengthens its market leadership with BSI’s ISO 9001:2008certification
Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC, the pre eminent marketer of Caltex, Havoline and Delo brand of lubricants in Sri Lanka recently received ISO 9001:2008 certification from UK’s most reputed standards body, the British Standards Institute (BSI). Further, Chevron’s state-of-the-art lubricant blending facility is currently the only plant in the country to have received this certification from BSI, in UK.
Chevron has been BS: EN ISO 9002 certified since 1998 which was updated to BS: EN ISO 9001:2000 in year 2003.
The recent upgrade to ISO 9001:2008 provides an enhanced quality framework covering aspects such as customer service, supply chain management, waste reduction, resource utilization, risk evaluation, business continuity planning and stakeholder management.
“This BSI certification serves as a measure of Chevron’s management and operational controls on quality. It demonstrates the standard established by Chevron to provide cutting-edge lubricant solutions that meet the demands of technologically advanced engines and machines” commented Mr. Kishu Gomes, Managing Director/CEO, Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC. He added that a certification such as this is an important attribute that further differentiates Chevron Lubricants Lanka from its competition.
The raw material suppliers for all Chevron products are also ISO 9001 certified, and monitored under the global quality framework of Chevron Corporation.
